"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." That is according to Cicero and I believe he was absolutely correct on that count!
John, Geoff and Christy were engaged in a great bug hunt which they embarked on with corresponding enthusiasm. (It's amazing how much entertainment one can get from a set of bug-catching implements that cost me two pounds and ninety-nine pence at the discount corner of WH Smith!) I simply soaked in the sun whilst sketching.
Wildflowers had carpeted the garden when we arrived. But the lawn mower made short work of that one day. The adults decided to get some action one glorious Saturday evening in late spring.

The King and we; the victors carrying the king |
Frazer offered to teach us how to play Kubbs a game that originates from Scandinavia. So Kor and Charissa played against Frazer who teamed up with Dad. The game might have gone on indefinitely if Charissa had not accidentally done the king pin in. So here we are at half past nine in the evening on the lovely freshly-mown lawn of Halford House.
